How Does Seating Work?
The Brave New Workshop is a RESERVED SEATING facility. When you book your tickets online or through our box office, you can choose "quick pick" for the best available seats. We only seat 200 patrons in our theatre, so you're never too far from the action, but if you want assistance in choosing your seats or you need special accomodations for wheel chair access, our crack team of knowledgeable box office staff wll be happy to help! Just call 612.332.6620.

What If I'm Late?
Patrons arriving after the show starts will be seated at an appropriate break in the performance, at the discretion of the management. Latecoming parties may find that they will have to split up. Please do not be late! Our theatre is very small, so seating latecomers is extremely disruptive for our other patrons. For this reason, we recommend that our guests arrive 30 minutes before showtime, and any seats which aren't claimed 10 minutes prior to showtime may be released for resale.

Is There Food/Drink Available?
Yes! We serve beer, wine, soda, some of the best coffee and espresso drinks in town; as well as popcorn and snacks at our concession stand. You CAN bring them into the theater with you! We do not allow outside food or drink, however - no packing a picnic unless you brought enough for all of us!

Where Should I Park?
Generally, ample on-street parking is available within one or two blocks of our theatre. You may find it neccessary to go around the block once or twice. (The streets one or two blocks west of Hennepin Ave. are well-lit and offer good availability for parking spots.) Bad news - you'll need to leave a few minutes early in order to park and walk a short way to the theatre; Good news - all on-street parking in our neighborhood is free!

Can I Bring My Favorite Kid To The Show?
Our shows usually contain strong language (bad words - the 4-letter ones) and some sexual innuendos. Only you can determine what's appropriate for the young people in your life, so if you have any doubts, call the box office (612-332-6620) to find out more about the content of the show in question. Or, you may wish to preview one or two of our shows before bringing your kids or teens. Please keep in mind that a lot of our humor is political and social satire, meaning many younger kids probably won't "get it".

For the comfort and safety of everyone, we do not allow children under the age of 5 to attend performances.

Where Can I Get A Meal Before/After The Show?
Uptown is filled with great places to chow down! Our favorite is The Green Mill (right across the street) which has great pizza, pasta, and burgers PLUS they now offer 25% off your purchase of food if you show your BNW ticket stub.

What Is The Brave New Workshop All About?
What you'll see at the Brave New Workshop is somewhat like a "real-live version of Saturday Night Live" -- only we're much funnier than SNL, and we've been doing it longer (50 years!). We start with a "general theme," like apathy, or the presidential election, or something that is on everyone's mind, we write original comedy sketches and songs that "satirize" or "make a statement about," or "take a look at" the topic in a new and funny and entertaining way. It's called "sketch comedy" or "a comedy revue" and the Brave New Workshop has been doing it since 1958, longer than anyone on the globe. Our goal is always to be FUNNY, ENTERTAINING, PROVACATIVE, and, above all, BRAVE! We DO NOT recommend our Minneapolis stage shows for those with weak "humor bones" or those who are easily shocked or offended. We DO recommend our Minneapolis stage shows for anyone looking for something different and surprising and anyone who considers themselves to be "comically BRAVE."

How Long Is The Show?
Our shows are about 100 minutes to two hours with one intermission. Following every show (except the early shows on Saturdays) there is also a free performance of our world famous improvisation (our unofficial 'third act') which lasts 20 - 45 minutes.
Six Ring Circus generally lasts 60 - 90 minutes. Improv-a-Go-Go runs about 2 hours. Summer Series performances run 90 minutes. Other special events and rentals vary. For specific information, please email us.
